HYDE                                                     46

BREWSTER ACADEMY                    40

The Men’s Prep basketball team ventured to Wolfboro, NH to compete against Brewster Academy on Saturday, January 15th.   Hyde came out flat but after a time out and a little motivation, the Phoenix stepped up their game and were ready to be nothing but victorious. Seniors Harry Smith ‘11 and Ted Cercos ‘11 led the way with their leadership and poise while junior Chris Moulton ‘12 was a rebounding machine, contributing 8 points. New addition, junior Tyler Raff ‘12, played with fire and finished with 8 points. As the team plays more and more together, they are becoming an army of one and improving immensely both offensively and defensively. With a record of 4-3, Hyde looks to take on Kent’s Hill on Wednesday, January 19.

Player of the Week:        This week’s player of the week is senior Harry Smith. With a “don’t quit” attitude and a calm yet motivating voice, he continues to push his teammates and lead by example. Against Brewster, when we needed him to play the post position, he was open and had a fearless attitude. During this game Harry really stepped up his play which helped lead us to a victory. He continues to build his confidence and hold himself accountable while always pushing his team to improve.

Goal:   Beat Kent’s Hill!!!  Our goal is to limit turnovers and fouls while also continuing to tighten up our offensive sets.
