Hyde School – 3
Falmouth Academy – 3
Despite a furious come-from-behind effort in the closing minutes of the match, the Hyde Wolfpack could not find the go-ahead goal and tied a talented Falmouth Academy squad 3-3. The Wolfpack were up against forces beyond their control from the outset of the day as bus woes and Cape Cod traffic made a long drive nearly unbearable. Showing up to Falmouth at 4:10 for a 4pm start had the Wolfpack rattled. Falmouth Academy took full advantage of our tired legs and scored in just the third minute of the game off a header from a cross from the right flank. Trailing 1-0 for the majority of the first half, the Wolfpack would not quit. Hyde was rewarded with its work rate in the 29th minute when striker Nate Chesley ’12 settled a cross from midfielder Adam Carreau ’11 and buried a shot just inside the left post to know the score at 1. Just seven minutes later Chesley slotted a through ball to fellow striker Jae Kang Lee who tucked his shot inside the right post for a 2-1 Wolfpack advantage.
Seventeen minutes into the second half, Falmouth scored two goals in just under two minutes to take a 3-2 lead over a stunned Wolfpack squad. With just six minutes remaining in the contest, freshman hero Jae Kang Lee struck again as he finished off a shot after a may lay in front of the Falmouth goal mouth to knot the score at 3. In the closing seconds of the match, senior striker Matan Peltier made a daring run down the heart of the Falmouth defense only to have his shot tipped over the cross bar. While the 3-3 draw was not what the Wolfpack had hoped for, they showed grit and tenacity in yet another come-from-behind effort.
