Hebron Gets Past Boys Varsity Soccer

Hyde – 2
Hebron – 4

On a cold and wet afternoon, Men’s Varsity Soccer fell to Hebron 2-4 in a MAISAD match.  Hebron scored  fifteen minutes into the game on a well-struck shot that just skirted past an outstretched Alex Randall ‘12 in goal.  Moments later, Jamal Borden ’13 tied the game with a one time blast from 18 yards out.  Hebron scored again two minutes before the half, but Hyde was able to level the score with less than a minute in the half when Borden ’13  crashed the net to capitalize on a rebound goal.  Halftime score 2-2.  Hyde came out strong in the second half but could not contain an athletic Hebron squad.  Hebron got the game-winning goal at the 75th minute mark and added one more late on a set piece.  Final score 2-4.  Leo Shan ’11, and Nabil Eshraghian ’13 worked tirelessly on the outside flanks.  Defensive shout outs go to Nat Abernethy ’11 and Alex Biedermann ’11 for keeping their composure throughout the game.  Man of the match honors went to Chester Hill ’11. The Phoenix will host Gould on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
