Hyde-Woodstock opened its doors to 140 students on September 1. The student population is varied, with a large number coming from Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts. Students are not just from the tri-state area; they hail from places around the globe, such as California, Texas, Maine, North Carolina, Canada, China, France, and Saudi Arabia.
Both faculty and students brought a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to the first days of school. The excitement for the class of 2010 in particular demonstrated the renewed vigor and energy for the new school year. “This year’s senior class has huge leadership potential,” says Assistant Head of School John Rigney. “They´ve set a serious tone for the new academic year and helped the underclassmen start out on the right foot.¨
Students participated in a sports preseason for the first few days and began classes on Saturday, September 5.
Additionally, Hyde School welcomed the addition of new faculty members to its community. With four new and one returning faculty member, Hyde looks forward to a promising school year for its diverse student community.
