We’re excited to introduce a wonderful cohort of faculty! Welcome to the Hyde team!
Marshall Hoovler
Born in Boston, Marshall has spent the last fourteen years teaching English at Robert College in Turkey. He’s excited to be back in the U.S. and to join our English department. Along with his wealth of classroom experience, he’s already brought a happy-to-do-it spirit and has connected with faculty and students during Summer Leadership Adventure.  As a tennis coach with over a decade of experience, we can’t wait to see him on the court this spring.

Bill Klein
Also joining our English Department. For the past eight years, Bill has taught English to middle and high school students in Brooklyn, New York. He also has experience coaching soccer and was an athlete at Georgetown University. Bill will be a dorm parent in Governor’s Hall and is excited about the many mentorship roles he'll take on in the months ahead.

Sofia Solari
Sofía, our new Spanish and ELL (English Language Learning) teacher, grew up just down the road in Yarmouth, Maine. At Colby College, she majored in Spanish and studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, where she built lasting friendships. After graduating from Colby, Sofía earned her Master’s in Education in ELL from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Like Marshall, she worked alongside our faculty team during Summer Leadership Adventure, bringing great energy and forming strong connections with students.

Abby Denton
Hailing from Florida, Abby is a recent graduate of Stetson University, where she majored in Mathematics. During her time in the program, she served as a tutor, a Calculus II teaching assistant, and president of the Math Club. This summer, she worked as a middle school tutor and is excited to transition to working with Hyde students while further developing her teaching experience. Abby will also support the track and field coaching staff and serve as a dorm parent in Field House.

Ali Candy ’21
A Hyde alumna, Ali returned last summer as a college Intern during our summer program. Her energy, spirit, and desire to reconnect with a community that made a lasting impact on her life paved the way for her new role on the faculty. Now part of the Admissions team, Ali brings a deep connection to Hyde’s vision and values. She will also support the girls in Deck House as a dorm parent and coach Girls Varsity Soccer this fall.

Ruth Ann Allen
We are pleased to welcome Ruth, a highly experienced athletic trainer with over 20 years of expertise in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sports medicine education. A native of Indiana, she has also lived internationally, and is excited to explore Maine. Ruth’s journey spans a range of settings, from schools and universities to international organizations, including Olympic teams. Her leadership, depth of knowledge, and passion for student well-being make her an invaluable resource for our school.
