The Hyde School community gathered for another exciting installment of our beloved Disco Cup series this Friday, featuring a high-energy karaoke competition. The Disco Cup, our cherished weekly tradition, brings Discovery Groups together every Friday night for various competitions ranging from basketball tournaments and trivia nights to volleyball matches and pumpkin carving contests.

This week's karaoke showdown saw Discovery Groups selecting their top talent, with each team fielding two lead singers accompanied by background dancers and singers. Performances spanned from Bruno Mars hits to spirited renditions of "Barbie Girl". The performances not only highlighted our students' musical abilities but also their willingness to step out of their comfort zones and support one another.

The event proved to be more than just a competition – it was a vibrant display of community bonding. Students cheered on their peers, and the energy in the room was electric as each group took their turn in the spotlight. For many participants, it was their first time performing in front of an audience, making the evening even more memorable. Whether on stage or in the audience, every student played a part in making the evening a hit!

In the ongoing race for the coveted Disco Cup, which will culminate in a grand finale this spring, teams earned points to boost their standings on the overall leaderboard. This week's victorious Discovery Group earned a coveted prize: freedom from Hyde Dress this Monday.

The karaoke competition exemplified the true spirit of the Disco Cup series – bringing our community together, fostering healthy competition, and creating lasting memories. As we continue through the school year, each Friday night adds another chapter to this exciting competition, with Discovery Groups vying for points and weekly prizes while strengthening their bonds as a community.
