Over the first couple of months at Hyde School, the Photography and Graphic Design class has been learning four programs from Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom Classic. A week before Fall Family Weekend, we held a class critique to showcase their work from the first major project. Students and two guest faculty members discussed each piece, reflecting on the tools and processes used and how each student, even though it's early in the term, has begun to develop a unique visual language.
Students also shared how Adobe’s Generative AI, which is becoming an integral tool in digital art to streamline workflow, influenced their work when they chose to use it, noting whether they felt it added to their compositions effectively. Questions we explored during the critique included: What worked well in the compositions? What could have been improved? And how did the work resonate with us?
