Lea Bridges - Learning Connections Department
Lea Bridges brings a rich background in both history and early childhood special education to the Learning Connections Department. She holds a BA in History from Stony Brook University and an MA in Early Childhood Special Education from St. Joseph's University. With seven years of teaching experience, Lea has taught middle and high school history at The Knox School in St. James, NY, and spent five years at Gaines Elementary School in Athens, GA, teaching K-5 STEAM and 5th grade. Lea is eager to contribute her expertise and passion to Hyde School, sharing, "I am truly excited to be a part of the Hyde community and am committed to using my experiences to support and empower students!”
Shaw Bridges - History Department
Shaw Bridges joins the History Department with extensive teaching experience. He holds a BA from Gettysburg College and an MA in History from the University of Georgia. Shaw has taught AP US History, AP Government and Politics, US and World History, and Philosophy at The Knox School for three years. He also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia for five years, teaching American History, and was an Instructor of Record for Early American History. Shaw shares, "I am excited to join the Hyde School and work with students and faculty to foster intellectual curiosity and strive to be conscientious citizens of the world and caring members of this special community along the Kennebec River.”
