Expanding our Arts Program!

Our Arts program is growing this year as we welcome to the faculty Bailey Kent '19 and Nava Schorsch '19. They join Brooke Felt, Jessie Higgins '16, Liz Rhaney, and Hunter Reid in teaching various courses across fine arts, performing arts, music, and film.

Ms. Kent is launching a new Intro to Songwriting course designed to unlock creativity, ignite passion for music, and empower students to express themselves through the art of song. She has taken a long-standing weeklong workshop at Hyde and developed it into a full-year course that is sure to be enriching and entertaining.

Performing Arts at Hyde School has always been a tradition at Hyde. From our PA shows on family weekends to the old days of America's Spirit, Hyde School's performing arts show that toured the country in the mid-1970s to the early 1980s performing on Broadway in New York City in 1976 and the Kennedy Center Musical Theater Lab in 1977 in Washington DC. Ms. Schorsch's background in dance and theater brings excitement to our campus running our campus-wide performing arts program as well as two new courses Show Design and Direction & Advanced Performance and Theater Arts that look to bring a lot of energy and maybe our alumni from the 1970s and 1980s a bit of nostalgia.
