Discovery Groups Acts of Kindness

‘Tis the Season of Giving, and each Discovery Group has planned an Act of Kindness for someone or an organization in the greater community during December or January. Some are baking cookies to donate to the Bath Area Food Bank or the local fire station; another is making toys for dogs in the local animal shelter and baking cookies for the workers there. A few groups are helping with our annual Salvation Army Christmas Party to help local families in need. Students and faculty will be decorating The Mansion, donating and wrapping gifts, managing a hot chocolate and toppings bar, reading “Twas the Night before Christmas,” and serving homemade cookies and treats. Other groups are planning to gather supplies for local charities or donate their time to the local soup kitchen.

It is important to remember those less fortunate, especially during the holidays. Helping our students plan and carry out meaningful Acts of Kindness encourages them to think about others and the many benefits we gain by giving our time and supporting those in our community. We can all find ways to help those less fortunate or to give back to those who give to others all year long.
