Dear Hyde Families,
It’s hard to believe we’ve already been in session for over a month! It has been a great time to reconnect with returning students and get to know the new students from all over the world! While it’s hard to believe, we are already heading towards our first school break of the year and I’d like to share information about student travel during these scheduled breaks. To support families, Hyde provides charter bus service during Fall, Winter, and Spring Breaks to the following destinations:
- Portland International Jetport (PWM)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- South Station, Boston
Please note that this service is only available for these three scheduled breaks; it is not offered at the start or end of the school year.
Charter Bus Details
Because travel times are subject to traffic and weather, we ask that students plan to arrive 30 minutes early to all pick-up locations, unless your student is traveling internationally and will need additional time to go through customs. Please plan for this appropriately. Unfortunately, the bus cannot wait for late or delayed arrivals.
Fees
- One way to Portland Jetport: $50
- One way to Boston (Logan or South Station): $100
- Late sign-ups (less than one week in advance): additional fee applies

Please be sure your travel plans are confirmed before purchasing, as tickets are non-refundable. Duplicate purchases also cannot be refunded, so we recommend keeping your emailed receipt for reference.
Other Travel Needs
Please know that Hyde does not provide transportation outside of the hired charter bus. Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging both departure and return travel if your student’s schedule does not allow them to use the charter bus.

Unaccompanied Minor Service
When required by airlines or airports due to a student’s age, Hyde can provide Unaccompanied Minor service on a case-by-case basis. There are fees due directly to the school for this service (outside of fees that are required by the airline), to be paid at least one week before service is needed.
- $150 for service to Portland Jetport (one-way)
- $300 for service to Logan Airport (one-way)
Because this service is resource-intensive, we strongly encourage families to use alternative arrangements whenever possible.
