Dear Parents,
As our first school break swiftly approaches, it's hard to believe how quickly time has flown by! To ensure a smooth departure and return process, I wanted to outline our break procedures for your convenience. Please take a moment to review the information provided below, especially noting the departure days designated for specific sports teams.
For all breaks, we arrange for a charter bus to facilitate the transportation of students to and from their travel destinations, which include Portland International Jetport, Portland ME; Logan International Airport, Boston, MA; and South Station, Boston, MA. The detailed bus schedule, encompassing departure times from the school and estimated arrival times for students, is provided below. To reserve a spot on the charter bus, kindly complete the form and make the necessary payment at this link: https://www.hyde.edu/student-life/transportation. Reservations for Fall Break will close on Friday, November 10th, 2023.
Should the charter bus times listed above not align with your student's travel plans, please remember that parents will be responsible for making alternative arrangements for their departure from and return to campus.
Listed below are the specified departure and return dates for students:
Departure - Friday, November 17th
Return - Monday, November 27th
Winter Break:
Departure - Friday, December 15th
Return - Wednesday, January 3rd
Spring Break:
Departure - Friday, March 1st
Return - Monday, March 18th
Please note that there are adjusted departure dates for students participating in boys' varsity soccer and both boys' and girls' basketball. Return dates for these students will remain consistent.
Soccer (Fall – NEPSAC Tournament): Plan for departure either on the evening of Sunday, November 19th or the following day, Monday, November 20th.
Basketball (Winter): Plan for departure either on the evening of Sunday, December 17th or the following day, Monday, December 18th.
Basketball (Spring – NEPSAC Tournament): Plan for departure either on the evening of Sunday, March 3rd or the following day, Monday March 4th.
