Spring Family Weekend
Family education has been at the forefront of the school's curriculum since the mid-seventies. We have often said that if you want to reach students, you must also affect the biggest influences in their lives: their peers, but most of all their parents. This past weekend, we welcomed most of our domestic and some international families to campus for Spring Family Weekend, a time when we come together to celebrate student growth in all areas of school life. The weekend activities included:
  • Academic Class Rotations
  • Athletic Contests
  • Family Meetings
  • Community Meetings
  • The All-School Performing Arts Show
  • Family Time
The weekend theme was Conscience: We attain our best through character and listening to our inner voice. During one of the community meetings, a student/faculty/parent panel shared thoughts on the following questions:

  1. Who in your life has modeled conscience, and what have you learned from them?
  2. When has following your conscience led to a defining moment?

Everyone walked away from this meeting inspired by the contributions, and the weekend showed that Hyde is truly a family school. As one parent said, "I am leaving energized and knowing that my son is in the right place." What an amazing weekend!

One More Ask: Help Us Find the Next Hyde Family - Message from our Admissions Director

Parents, you spent this weekend surrounded by families who get it. You know what Hyde asks of students, and you've seen what it gives back. That combination makes you our most credible voice.

If someone comes to mind who you think would be a good fit for Hyde, we would be grateful if you passed along their name. It could be a family in your community, a great young person who needs a new challenge, or a parent who has mentioned that their child needs something different.

All we need is a name and a little context. Just contact me, Justin Fahey, Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid, at jfahey@hyde.edu to tell me about who they are, how you know them, and why you think Hyde might be the right fit. I will follow up personally, thoughtfully, and without pressure. Every introduction is treated as a relationship, not a sales lead.

There is no script and no deadline. If someone comes to mind next week or next month, we want to hear about it.
Thank you for being here this weekend, and for being the kind of community that makes Hyde worth recommending.

Justin Fahey
Director of Enrollment & Financial Aid
