For the third year in a row, a group of Hyde students traveled to NYC for an immersion program in understanding finance. They had been invited by Hyde alum and former Hyde teacher, Michael Cannon '11, now a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. The seminars were led by Faiez Ahmed (a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Incorporated) and Michael Cannon, who shared important lessons learned during his time at Hyde. They also brought in financial experts to teach about topics including the history of Wall Street, the basics of investing, and how credit cards can help or hurt their holders.
Many people made this happen. Much thanks to John and Saryna Young for hosting students and providing support. Much thanks, too, to Peter and Caren St. Phillip for hosting students and providing a wonderful dinner. Also, thanks to the dynamic duo, Dean Thomas Bragg and faculty member Abby Denton, who led theWhat a great day of learning.
