Laura D. Gauld

Being Accountable: Raising Children of Character in a Culture of Affluence and High Achievement

Laura will discuss essential skills, critical to shaping family attitudes grounded in strong principles – principles that instill high expectations and develop the necessary tools to meet them, including:

- How to teach children to be responsible for their actions in life

- How having faith in children’s unique potential and the larger forces at work can lead to their character development

Laura Gauld is the head of the Hyde Boarding School Initiative, part of the group of character-building schools whose pioneering philosophy has been profiled on 60 Minutes, 20/20, Today, PBS and NPR. She is the co-author of the book The Biggest Job We’ll Ever Have, as well as the founder of parenting seminars that emerged from it. Known for her success with turning around attitudes, she draws on three decades of experience as an education and parenting expert to offer an upbeat, interactive workshop providing invaluable information on issues affecting families and the critical roles of parents relative to those issues.

This program is provided free for parents with children of all ages.
