Campus Life

Students learn quickly at Hyde private boarding schools that campus life is all about being an active and engaged member of the community. Students are prepared to reach for their highest potential in college and in life by making the connection between strong character and commitment to excellence in all areas of learning. Emphasis on COURAGE, INTEGRITY, LEADERSHIP, CURIOSITY, and CONCERN provides the cornerstone for learning—in the classrooms, dormitories, the arts, and on the athletic fields.

ACADEMICS

All students at Hyde have the opportunity to excel in academics when they commit to raising personal and peer standards and expectations by adopting and encouraging positive learning attitudes and a high level of effort in the classroom. Ninety-eight percent of Hyde students attend four-year colleges and our alumni are prepared, thoughtful leaders because of Hyde’s academic program, which builds skills and develops confidence.

ATHLETICS

All students participate in three sports during the academic year. Hyde Schools athletic programs offer seasoned athletes, novice athletes, and athletes whose abilities fall somewhere in between an opportunity to explore leadership potential by developing skills that can help them become effective problem-solvers, strategists, and strong team players.

ARTS

Hyde students all participate in visual or performing arts. The arts program allows students to express their creativity, appreciate the world around them, enhance public speaking and presentation skills, and take pride in their work. Arts are closely tied to academics, allowing students to understand how creativity influences innovation, active learning, and cultural literacy.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Concern for others is at the center of Hyde’s principles, and our students are engaged in community service on many levels.  Our students demonstrate leadership and a spirit of giving through participation in programs such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, blood drives, fundraising drives for schools, and work in local homeless shelters and soup kitchens. Hyde graduates practice responsible citizenship and  pursue success grounded in ethical leadership.
