BJVS Season Opener at Chops Point

Thursday September 7, 2017

Hyde School: 0 – Chops Point: 3

Boys junior varsity soccer traveled to Chops Point to play on a great grass field on a beautiful sunny day.

The Wolfpack came out strong but our defense was not able to hold off the attack by Chops Point. Our defense was able to hold them off for most of the first half as their first goal came with 12 seconds left in the first half. On the defensive, Sachin Venkatesh ’17 played an amazing game as his first appearance as goalie. Had it not been for some amazing plays the score could have been much worse.

Our attacks were cut short with a strong Chops Point defense. Justin Podell ’17 and Stratton Karangelen ’19 helped push the Wolfpack on attack and created many opportunities. The boys were able to outrun them but a few costly mistakes caught up to them.

This was a great start to the season as the boys showed a lot of heart and the willingness to grow and get better. This coming Saturday, September 9, we have our home opener on the turf facing off against Wisscassett.
