Hyde-Woodstock Celebrates International Week

Chinese New Year started off International Week on the Hyde-Woodstock campus. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating and the trip to Chinatown in Boston was postponed until the following Sunday.  At the Tuesday morning meeting several Chinese students presented the school with a lesson on the New Year, the importance of chopsticks, and family traditions.

During the week the kitchen staff fed the school meals from Turkey, China, and Mexico.  On Wednesday afternoon several volunteers gathered to prepare dumplings for Thursday’s lunch.

The week was capped off by a series of performances that included magic, solos and singing duets.  The school gave feedback on what they observed and liked about the different performances. The students worked hard and did an outstanding job relating what was important to them in celebrating the Year of the Monkey.
