Phoenix Girls JV Soccer Works Hard, Falls to Mt. Ararat 0-4

Hyde Girls JV Soccer vs. Mt Ararat

Hyde: 0
Mt. Ararat: 4

October 8th, 2014

On Wednesday afternoon, Hyde JV girl soccer played against Mt. Ararat School from Topsham, Maine at Hyde’s Gym field. Mt. Ararat generously lent Hyde three players so we could play the game with a full team. The Mt. Ararat girls and Hyde girls worked well together as a team. This game definitely showed great sportsmanship.

The girls were nervous at first, but they gradually picked it up. After a little strategy change and received some important critics, the girls didn’t allow Mt. Ararat to score any goals and made five shots. Three of them were from our striker Timisha Walker’17. One of them was from the mid-fielder Macy Weymar’17, who also played the whole game without a single break.  Defender Shirly He’16 showed a lot of growth with her physical strength and skills. She was able to block many shots and passes from Mt. Ararat. Jennifer Borjes’16 and Morgan Primak’17 pushed through illness and had a strong performance. Goalie Anna Presson’16 also had numerous impressive saves. Mt Ararat ended up winning 4-0 but the game time experience was invaluable for our crew of young student athletes.
