The Songwriter’s Workshop is a week-long songwriting intensive program that culminates in a performance showcase at a local music venue. The workshop takes place during the winter term and is held on the Hyde-Bath campus. Guest facilitators come and volunteer their time to assist students with the craft of songwriting. Over the course of the week students are encouraged to take advantage of performance opportunities that range from school meetings and media appearances to the culminating showcase. Students are also given the opportunity to demo their songs in the school’s state-of-the-art recording studio with the help of professional session musicians. Past facilitators have included Michael McDonald, Don Cook, John Hiatt, Terry Radigan, Dylan McDonald, Brian Thompson, Mark Radcliffe, Chris Vrenios, Alex Sandman, Chloe Lear, Kate Schrock, and Lisa Redfern.
