Songwriters Workshop

Make This The Summer You'll Never Forget

The Songwriters Workshop is a one week program focused on the craft of lyrical songwriting. The program is a great way for beginning songwriters to get started or veterans to hone their skills. The workshop has over eight years of success in helping musicians and is based upon a critique process that offers writers valuable feedback on their work. Included in the schedule are;

  • lecture sessions
  • song critiques
  • writing sessions
  • studio demos
  • performance opportunities

The program is delivered by Hyde music faculty Matt Newberg (mnewberg@hyde.edu) along with several guest facilitators.

Past participant Hunter Crittenden of Pittsburgh, PA said of the workshop:

“Songwriting classes gave me confidence; experience that helped me play sax with the school marching band and the jazz band. I met great people who shared my interest in music. Performing together helped me with both intonation and blending. These experiences helped me grow as a musician, and the lessons learned inspire my playing today.”
