Come join Hyde School for a unique program of growth and education rooted in experience-based learning. The program offers a comprehensive and fun way to wrap up the summer and prepare for the 2017-18 academic year. Current Hyde students as well as students with an interest in Hyde are encouraged to attend!
Wild Maine! Explorations at Hyde’s Black Wilderness Preserve, Eustis, Maine
Explore 600 beautiful acres of pristine wilderness in Eustis, Maine, called the Black Wilderness Preserve. Designed with a focus on action-oriented learning, team building, and self-discovery, August Explorations has experiences that will foster growth and develop confidence. It is framed around wilderness experiences such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and multi-day expeditions.
Wilderness skill-building exercises push students to face challenges and take risks. August Explorations provides a wonderful opportunity for student reflection with a focus on teamwork and growth.
All activities will be framed around Hyde’s character and leadership development model allowing students to uncover their best while having fun.
- Build trust and learn group dynamics in small teams
- Explore their own leadership style and voice
- Gain experience outside their comfort zone
- Experiential education modes provide hands-on learners with valuable memories and learning opportunities
- Water activities such as kayaking and canoeing in Maine
